Hill Brothers are grower suppliers of plants and flowers to major supermarket chains and other retail outlets near Chichester in West Sussex. Their business was expanding and they needed extensive new offices and under glass growing area. The unusual aspect to this project was that all the works were to be carried out in a sectioned off area at the end of a huge greenhouse.
The works included a mezzanine floor along the length of the new offices but the unusual access was up a wide staircase and across a “bridge” to the mezzanine. On the first floor were four offices and an open area whilst downstairs there was a large open reception with glass partitioning, additional offices, a kitchen and breakout area and toilets. The offices and meeting rooms were all built from stud partition with suspended ceilings, power, lighting and data together with air conditioning and floor coverings.
Bearing in mind that the structure of the building was built from glass, and the enormous amount of steelwork forming the mezzanine floor, the entire project was carried out without a single pane of glass being cracked, let alone broken.
These light and airy offices are a delight to visit. All was completed on time and to budget.
